WOMEN OF FAITH CLIMATE LEADERS PROGRAM

In Partnership with

Overview:

Aligned with our commitment to SDG 5: Gender Equality and our mission to equip faith-based actors for climate leadership, we are launching the inaugural Women of Faith Climate Leaders Program—a high-impact fellowship designed to move women of faith from the margins to the forefront of global climate action.

This fully funded programme will convene a carefully selected cohort of up to 20 exceptional women—80% from the Global South and 20% from the Global North—reflecting a diverse range of faith traditions, including Indigenous communities and the world’s major religions. Each fellow is selected not only for their leadership potential, but for their ability to catalyse meaningful change within their communities and beyond.

Date: 3 – 6 August 2026

Location: Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA

Hosted at Harvard University, one of the world’s most influential academic institutions, and delivered in partnership with its Divinity School, a leading centre for the study of religion and public life, the programme is designed to do more than train, it positions participants within a global ecosystem of ideas, influence, and action.

At its core, the fellowship recognises that a just climate future depends on equitable partnerships between the Global North and South. It creates a space for serious collaboration by bringing together leaders who can bridge divides, challenge structural barriers, and co-create solutions rooted in both moral authority and lived experience.

Grounded in the principles of our Declaration of Inclusivity — launched at the sidelines of UNGA in 2023 — the programme will:

  • Equip leaders to navigate and transform systems, building the capacity of BIPOC women to overcome institutional barriers and step into positions of influence across climate and faith sectors
  • Forge cross-continental partnerships, connecting women of faith across regions to build lasting, action-oriented alliances
  • Deliver practical, high-level training — spanning advocacy, strategic communications, vocational skills, and resource mobilisation to launch and scale impactful initiatives
  • Create a lasting leadership network — a trusted, women-led space for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and sustained community-building

This is not simply a training programme. It is a deliberate investment in a new generation of leaders equipped to shape narratives, influence policy, and drive climate action from the ground up.
